Expressions of Interest

The trustees request a review of the current governance and financial arrangements of the charity and then the supply of identified provision to ensure:

  • A registered office base and address for communication, administration and correspondence
  • That the charity operates in accordance with company and charity law. This includes the filing of statutory returns to the Charity Commission and the keeping of charity registers as required
  • A constitution that reflects the needs of the identified beneficiaries of the charity
  • The prudent financial management of the charity exercising financial control and the appropriate use of membership fees and external funding
  • The preparation with trustees of annual cash flow and surplus/loss forecasts
  • Arrangement and administration of banking facilities and the current account
  • Timely processing of all purchase invoices and the issue of sales/membership invoices
  • Monthly payments to suppliers/contractors
  • Completion of all VAT records as required
  • The charity keeps proper accounts and that audited accounts are produced annually and submitted to the Charity Commission and as required by any other funding bodies.
  • The appointment of Chartered Accountants with good experience of the charity sector
  • The charity complies with the Charity Commission financial procedures and that annual audit reports are timely and that any recommendations are implemented as appropriate
  • The appropriate briefings to trustees and updates on charity law and governance
  • Consideration to the appropriate policies & statements to be published by trustees
  • The charity complies with the conditions of any public funds received
  • That appropriate annual insurance cover and public liability is arranged for trustees
  • The monitoring and documentation of any potential conflicts of interest between board members and any commissioned service level arrangements
  • Negotiation and finalisation of agreements with service providers as directed by the NAVSH trustees
  • Appropriate support to all service providers as required
  • The authorisation and administration of payment to providers
  • An agreed cycle of trustee meetings takes place with appropriate papers for the board to consider
  • Provision of monthly management and annual accounts to the trustees
  • The coordination all fund raising and grant applications
  • The administration of the members AGM
